The Birthday Kiss and Just Handshakes (We're British)

Shall be trotting off to see these two bands a bit later on at The Brudenell Social Club here in Leeds. They'll be supporting erstwhile Hefner frontman Darren Hayman. Just Handshakes have previously appeared on the DTTR picture disc compilation LP 'Still Occupied Though You Forget' that we put out to celebrate our 5th Birthday last year. It looked a bit like this, the other side had a swirly pattern that makes you feel a bit sick when it rotates.

Tonight will only be The Birthday Kiss' 2nd ever show, having made their debut at Long Divison festival in Wakefield a couple of weeks ago. Comprised of Ben from The Lodger, whose single 'Many Thanks For Your Honest Opinion' was an early release for us lot (DTTR003 no less), and  the Sarah from The Research, making them some sort of twee-indie-kitch-kitchen sink Supergroup, a bit like Bad Company or Cream or something. Anyway, it's all sweet vocals, jangly guitar and sometimes gently throbbing arpeggiator and sounds like this Choking At The Wheel by The Birthday Kiss

We Are Losers

We're very excited here at Dance to the Radio to be working with We Are Losers from Newbridge, County Kildare in Ireland. There's a double A-side single on its way in July with the stupidly infectious tracks Sunset Song / Cheerleader. Huge fuzzy guitar pop tunes with great harmonies. Like Raey said, bit like the Ramones meets the Beach Boys, close enough we suppose (but not really).
Here's another tune of theirs that you can have for nowt from http://dancetotheradio.bandcamp.com/, or just watch it (listen to it) loads and loads of time on Youtube, see below.
